To Bar Brawl or Not to Bar Brawl

After the courageous crew of the Black Swan was able to stave off an attack from a giant squid, they made port in the Avalon city of Wandesborrow. Some of the crew wanted to relax and see about gathering information on the Pirate Borg, so half the crew ended up at the Drunken Griffin and the rest stayed on the Swan. The night started off good with some good Irish singing by O’Rourke, along with plenty of drinking and wenching enjoyed by the crew and Captain. Of course a new sort of fun started about Ardeth Bay called O’Rourke’s singing dribble and the bar brawl was on. The brawl really didn’t last long with Ardeth Bay being a party pooper and using this swordsmen skills and knocking O’Rourke and most of the bar out with the flat of his blade. Where is the fun in that. The Captain for her part stayed out of the Brawl preferring the company of a lovely barmaid tell Pyotry put an end to that when he not only knocked out the bartender but also a patrol of guards that showed up to put a stop to the ruckus. After giving the barmaid a kiss Captain Nyx decided that it would be best to leave Wanesborrow and let things cool down a bit before returning. So the Black Swan is heading to the town of Crieux in Montainge with the information that Borg loves one type of Montainge wine over others. Maybe he would even trade the seal skin for a rare vitage.

Black Swan Flees another port

The Crew of the Black Swan made it to Wandesborrow Avalon. Half the crew went into town to drink and try to find information about Borg. After Roisin O’Rourke sang some songs and got the whole bar on their side, they managed to find out some information about Borg’s favorite wine, and that those shipments are his favorite target. Then Roisin and Ardeth Bey had a small disagreement about the quality of Roisin’s singing. Before they where done, the entire bar was destroyed, all the other patrons were unconscious, including the bartender. Pyotyr Irinova Dimitriov even managed to knockout the squad of guards who arrived. Nyx Little Swan Waring made the descision that it was time to flee another town, and With Ardeth carrying Roisin’s unconscious body they all made their way back to the ship, and fled for Montainge port city of Crieux.

Always Leave an Impression

The crew of the Black Swan always love to leave an impression at every port they visit. How else can you explain rescuing a lost Fey from a band of pirates, defending the port from sea monsters and then sailing off into the rising sun. The pubs will be filled with stories of our exploits for weeks. And being big damn heroes how can we turn down a damsel in distress who needs us to get her magical skin back from the Pirate Captain Borg before she can return home to her love.

Fighting on the Docks

Harbormaster Harak Vigilson,

Sir, I regret to inform you there has been an incident on the docks, this morning. A thief managed to get aboard the ship the Black Swan. When the noble men of Jarl Borg arrived to apprehend the thief, they were set upon by the crew of the Black Swan. The Jarl’s men fought valiantly but were beaten back. Then the Black Swan fled the port. I’m sure that drink was involved as we have reports of sea monsters and giant bears.

I recommend next time the Black Swan is in port we question them about the incident.

Welcome to your campaign!
A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.
